Spiritual Mature Believers Speaking Truth

Ephesians 4:15 (ESV) … “Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ…”

Paul was looking at the church on two levels in this section. He saw the body of Christ, made up of all true believers, growing gradually until it reaches spiritual maturity, “the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” But he also saw the local body of believers ministering to each other, growing together, and thereby experiencing spiritual unity fostered by those who are spiritually mature.

Spiritual maturity within the family of Christ, involves teaching the truth in love. One way to identify false believers is to look closely at how they teach others regarding truth. False teachers showed no love or care for the members; they simply wanted to get their own way.

Mature believers search for the truth as a united body, loving and caring for the needs of each member. Such loving, caring search for truth allows them to grow as members of the body whose head is Christ, for Christ is the truth.

Lift up prayers today, to we can be that spiritually mature believer which adds to the unity for the body of Christ and adds to the spiritual development of a disciple of Christ.
