Our Fate Rest in Our Faith
Exodus 32:33 (ESV) … But the Lord said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me, I will blot out of my book.”
Moses next scolded the Israelites for their apostasy and then sought audience with God in order to intercede for them. He pleaded to God on their behalf, even offering his own soul as a ransom for the lives. He asked God to blot his name out of the book God kept (see “Deeper Discoveries”). Moses was a true shepherd who would give his life for the sheep. But God replied by showing Moses the impossibility of this request. God taught Moses that every individual’s fate rests with his or her own faith.[1]
